Bliss Candies goodie bags with 5 treats packed in it!
Honestly, I think there is a “national day for…” almost everything under the sun, but this one in particular is important to me and my family, as without the postal service we wouldn’t be able to work from home! We ship out 3-4 times a week, pretty much year round, although we do take a break for a week or so during the Christmas season.
Backing up a bit, a week or so ago we started getting all of priority mail boxes delivered to us, and I pretty much ordered a box of 25 in every size available. As our postal lady was bringing all of this to the door for us, she asked “what do you guys do with all of these boxes?!?!” Which really is all the opening my husband needs to start speaking to someone about out at-home business, LOL. So he told her about our main business, mytrendytees.com, but explained that the priority boxes were mainly for our new venture, Bliss Candies. Well now, when you mention “candy shop” or “chocolates” to a female (I have yet to run nito one that doesn’t like these 2 things…) her ears immediately perked up and she asked for business cards, ha! As soon as my husband told me the conversation, I decided to look up when national postal worker appreciation day was, as I knew they had one but forgot the day. Lucky me, it is July 1st which gave me just enough time to get some yummy goodie bags together for them! Oh, and since we live in a small town now this was a fairly small en devour, as they only have 10 postal workers total, and that includes the “alternates”.
And quite coincidentally I happened to have scheduled to try out 2 new recipes last night, both of which turned out great, so those got included in the goodie bags. Really it was perfect timing, as I try things out so often and there is only so much we can keep around here to eat! I send out some of the goodies to family and friends, but that gets expensive, I do freeze some for me to eat at a laster time, and some get tossed =/ But anyways, the lucky postal workers get to try out 2 new items that aren’t even up in the shop yet! Their goodie bags included:
- a full-sized Chocolate Caramel Smore dipped in semi-sweet chocolate
- 1/2 size Milk Chocolate Dream Bar
- 1 wrapped Vanilla Caramel
- 1 mini Pecan Turtle
- 1 small portion of the Naughty Professor
